About the article:
During his recent visit to Tanzania, the German Minister for Development Aid Dirk Niebel agreed to support Tanzanian Minister of Finance Mustafo Mkulo with an additional 8.5 million Euros for PSI’s educational programs on HIV/AIDS and contraception.
“HIV/AIDS and a high population growth are posing tremendous challenges to the development of Tanzania. This program is an exemplary educational campaign of PSI. I am, therefore, happy that it will be continued and even geographically expanded to reach and involve additional groups of people. We thereby contribute jointly to the containment of HIV/AIDS and the promotion of family planning.”
Niebel visited a PSI booth as the fish market of Dar-es-Salaam where activists inform young visitors of the market of the necessity for AIDS provisions through dance, drums and sketches. “This is an incredibly important project”, lauds the minister. The German development cooperation has been aiding PSI since 2005.
