AN innovative mechanism geared to improve quality health service delivery in private sector facilities has started bearing fruits in the country as its demand increases.
The PSI Head of Government and Media Relations, Ms Fauziyat Abood, told ‘the Daily News’ that since the launching of the ‘Familia’ social franchising branding of health services in 2009, a total of 262 facilities have benefited.
“The current franchise model works to improve the quality of services offered by network clinics through provider capacity building, support supervision and periodic quality assessments, as well as the provision of equipment,” she said during the ongoing Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) yesterday.
