13 - 17 November

New Orleans, Louisiana

Transforming health systems begins with strong partnerships and data-informed decision-making to transform individual health outcomes.

We’ve demonstrated how malaria prevention and treatment interventions can build foundational entry points into health system strengthening and can contribute to cross-cutting actions like climate mitigation – all with the potential to improve outcomes for people and transform their communities.

At #TropMed24, learn how we use an evidence-based approach to support national malaria programs across 20 countries to deliver next-generation malaria vector control and innovative chemoprevention interventions, improve the reach of high-quality malaria services, and how our integrated approaches contribute to building resilient health systems.

Implementing Perennial Malaria Chemoprevention across Africa: Converging to Consensus?

Saturday, November 16, 8 a.m. – 9:45 a.m | New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center

Explore the latest findings on Perennial Malaria Chemoprevention (PMC) in moderate to high malaria transmission areas. Experts will discuss insights from seven countries across Africa highlighting operational research, lessons learned from implementation and the concomitant roll-out of PMC and the malaria vaccine. A moderated discussion will follow, featuring key lessons and best practices for countries looking to adopt PMC strategies.

  • Pioneering PMC in Sierra Leone
  • Interim Findings from the Plus Project Evaluations in Benin, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, and Mozambique
  • Acceptability of PMC by Caregivers and Health Workers: Evidence from the Democratic Republic of Congo
  • PMC-Effect Study: Data Management, Reporting and Results from the First Year of Perennial Malaria Chemoprevention Implementation in Osun state, Nigeria
  • Rolling out PMC and the Malaria Vaccine Concomitantly: Experience from Soa in Cameroon
  • Dr Godwin Ntadom, MBBS, MPH, PhD, National Coordinator, National Malaria Elimination Programme
  • Dr Augustin Fombah, Ministry of Health, Sierra Leone; College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, University of Sierra Leone; ISGlobal
