(Washington, D.C. – Date) PSI (Population Services International), a global health organization based in Washington, D.C., has donated software coding to the international learning consortium LINGOS to develop an online learning management system. The coding, designed specifically by PSI, will allow NGOs working in international development to track the progress of employees taking online courses and measure the impact of completed courses in overall work performance.
“We are thrilled to partner with PSI on this project,” said LINGOS Executive Director, Eric Berg. “PSI has been a leader within the LINGOs community and they are often looked to for innovation in learning solutions. Their development of a system to monitor the impact of online training is unique among our members and is helping us demonstrate the results of investments in learning.”
PSI has been a member of LINGOS since 2009, benefitting from LINGOS’ wide range of tools for developing, distributing and implementing learning activities. In order to make the best use of LINGOS’ online learning tools, PSI created its own software coding to provide its employees with access to several e-courses and linked these courses to an online survey. The survey measures the extent to which new skills or knowledge gained during an online course have been put to use on the job. It is based on PSI’s highly-regarded TRaC survey (Tracking Results Continuously), a behavioral survey used to measure and improve health interventions.
The new agreement between PSI and LINGOS will make PSI’s training survey and html coding available, free of charge, to LINGOS as it implements an online organizational development program for more than 100 local NGOs in Panama, Brazil, Paraguay and Guatemala.
“PSI has benefited immensely from our partnership with LINGOS. They have provided us with access to numerous free online courses that are now available to our global staff,” said Marie-Laure Curie, Manager of Learning and Performance at PSI and a member of the LINGOS Board of Directors. “We’re excited to share our html coding and survey to allow others to improve learning and performance in their programs as well.”
