ACTwatch lite
Gathering actionable insights into private sector malaria markets
Project
Overview
ACTwatch Lite produces actionable insights into private sector antimalarial (AM) and malaria RDT markets. The project collects data from retail outlets and supply chain actors (including importers and wholesalers) to get a full picture of availability, price, sales volumes, and stockouts across the private sector.
ACTwatch Lite, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is being implemented in Benin, Cameroon, and Nigeria. Want to go deeper? Read our project at-a-glance below.
The project's objectives include:
Generating malaria treatment, diagnostic, and provider data from formal and informal private sector outlets and their supply chains
Making data, methods, and tools rapidly available to decision-makers, enabling an up-to-date understanding of private sector malaria markets and drivers of market performance
Producing an open-access WHO-supported ACTwatch Lite toolkit to support and catalyze the adoption of AM/mRDT private sector market measurement in other countries
