United States President Donald Trump’s reinstatement of the ‘Mexico City Policy’ has cost jobs of more than 20 employees of the Lesotho Planned Parenthood Association (LPPA) and many more downstream when the project prematurely terminates today, February 28, 2017.
The project, launched last year at an initial two-year budget of M9 million is set to close its operations, barely a year after being launched in the country on March 15, 2016. The LPPA project has lost its funding from the US government after President Trump reinstated the ‘Mexico City Policy’ on January 29, 2017 – just a few days after taking office.
