CONTEXT IS EVERYTHING: ADAPTING NATIONAL PMC STRATEGIES TO COMMUNITY REALITIES IN BENIN, CAMEROON, CÔTE D’IVOIRE AND MOZAMBIQUE

TUESDAY, APRIL 23RD | 1:30 – 3:00 PM | MEZZANINE, KIGALI CONVENTION CENTER

Join us for an exciting session on Perennial Malaria Chemoprevention (PMC) – a World Health Organization (WHO) endorsed strategy for preventing malaria in young children in regions with year-round malaria transmission. The symposium will explore tailored PMC strategies integrated into existing health systems. Hear firsthand experiences from our team as we reveal innovative methods utilized in designing and implementing new PMC strategies across Benin, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, and Mozambique.

EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT DECISION-MAKING ACROSS AFRICA: DEVELOPMENT OF A DECISION TOOL FOR PERENNIAL MALARIA CHEMOPREVENTION (PMC)

FRIDAY, APRIL 26TH | 1:30 – 3:00 PM | AD11, KIGALI CONVENTION CENTER | ORGANIZER: LSHTM

In this dynamic session, we will unveil emerging multidisciplinary evidence and discuss plans for a groundbreaking decision-making tool to bolster PMC strategies across Africa. Findings will draw on the Plus Project, a Unitaid-funded, four-country pilot of PMC with data collection in 7 African countries. Learn how we developed a comprehensive model of PMC’s potential health impact, costs, and cost-effectiveness across diverse contexts as well as how to navigate the complexities of PMC implementation, including variations in resistance, efficacy, coverage, and delivery models.
