Talking about sexuality and rights isn’t easy for young people. Talking about sexuality and rights in fragile and conflicted areas is even harder.
The Jeune S3 program, a youth-focused project funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and led by Cordaid, aims to ensure that young people – including the most marginalized and vulnerable populations – are able, motivated and have the opportunity to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health and rights and that their sexual and reproductive rights are respected.
In conflict-prone and fragile contexts, women, and young girls in particular, are highly vulnerable. They are continuously confronted with aggression and violence throughout society, with little to no protection against assaults.
The five-year 30 million project led by Cordaid is being implemented in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Cameroon and Benin.
As a strategic partner, PSI Europe works with local in-country PSI network member Association Camerounaise de Marketing Social (ACMS) to coordinate the implementation of the project in Cameroon. PSI-Europe and ACMS’s contribution focuses predominantly on social behavior change communication, demand creation, service delivery and youth empowerment.
Learn how the Jeune S3 aims to reach 1.5 million young people by 2020 via health and rights education sessions.
