Project Ignite is testing two approaches as it seeks to break down barriers to access and use of voluntary, modern contraception among girls and young women (ages 15-24) with the aim of reducing unintended pregnancies, reducing unsafe abortions, and preventing transmission of HIV and other STIs. PSI is taking a market-based approach that capitalizes on existing private sector actors to increase supply and demand, and better serve the targeted end users. Triggerise is innovating with an ecosystem-develop approach – agnostic to the health sector – by building growing networks of brands, entrepreneurs, and businesses with consumer rewards to address ecosystem inefficiencies. The infographic is a visual display of the dichotomy of the two approaches in Mozambique, Haiti, Cote d’Ivoire, India and Kenya.
