Many areas in Vietnam lack access to proper water, sanitation and hygiene resources and services. Unsafe practices in these areas create risks for diseases that are preventable. The Vietnamese government is working towards significantly increasing the number of individuals who achieve hygienic sanitation. PSI is using a market-based approach to bridge the gap between the public and private sector in Vietnam, through the creation of ROTO retailers and trained masons. The goal is to motivate improved sanitation behaviors through Social and Behavioral Communication Change.
