Frans Engering held a prestigious 33 year career in the service of the Netherlands. He worked at the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, was a Permanent Representative of the Netherlands to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and was an Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa.

Dr. Engering holds a Ph.D. in economics from the Catholic University of Tilburg in the Netherlands. In addition to lecturing for many years, he has also served as a member of various high-level committees and groups, including the Benelux Monetary Committee, G-10 Deputies, International Monetary Fund (IMF) Interim Committee, International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) Development Committee, the Board of Governors of the Netherlands Economic Institute, the Board of Governors of the Telders Foundation.

In addition to PSI Dr. Engering serves as a member of the Advisory Board of the Van der Leij Foundation and asChairman of the ECORYS Foundation and member of the Supervisory Board of ECORYS Holding, an internationally operated research and consultancy company. He has published numerous papers on monetary theory and policy, international economic relations, public finances and international trade and investment. Dr. Engering was awarded Ridder in de Orde van Nederlandse Leeu, Netherland’s equivalent of knighthood, as well as named an Officer in the Order of Oranje-Nassau. Dr. Engering has also been decorated for his work by Austria, Russia, Venezuela and the Taiwan.
